Community Health

Community Health runs both diploma and certificate programmes in community health.

CHEW Programme is a 3 years (6 semesters) programme that leads to the award of a diploma in Community Health Extension Work (CHEW) with the  entry  qualification  of  Five  (5)  ‘O’  Level  Credit  Passes obtained  from  SSCE/GCE  WAEC  or  NECO  at  not  more  than two    These must be chosen from the following:

  1. Biology/Health Science  which  must  be  a  Credit  pass
  2. Any one  credit  pass  chosen  from  Chemistry ,  Food  & Nutrition,  Physics  and  Geography.
  3. Any two credits passes   chosen from Account, Agricultural Science, Commence and Economics
  4. Two compulsory credit passes in English Language and Mathematics OR The CHEW diploma can also be obtained from advancement of  qualified  JCEW  certificate  applicants  have  acquired  two years  post-qualification  experience,  with  valid  practice license in addition to  the   aforementioned   basic requirements. By this method of admission, it is a 2 years (4 semesters) course.

JCHEW Programme is  a 2 years (4  semesters) Certificate programme with the entry  qualification  of  five  (5)  ‘O’  level  Passes  which  must include  English,  Mathematics,  Biology  or  Health  Science  in SSCE  or  GCE  WAEC  or  NECO  at  not  more  than  two sittings
